Joe has been interested in solar power for a long time. “I used to live in Florida, and I considered going solar then, but it was too expensive at the time.” Joe then moved to Maryland, where his electricity bills were substantially higher, and energy prices were going nowhere but up.
Then, Joe talked to his brother in New York, who had a neighbor who went solar and was very satisfied with his panels. The neighbor’s favorite new hobby was watching his electricity meter spin backwards.
Joe looked into solar panels again, and was surprised at the affordability. “I don’t think a lot of people know how affordable it is,” he said.
Joe’s wife was initially not excited about solar panels. “She wanted new furniture or new carpets instead. But I convinced her that solar is a great way to save money and also reduce our carbon footprint. The system will pay for itself in the long run, and it adds value to the house if we decide to sell it.”
