Customer Quotes

I am very excited that the State of Maryland is promoting the growth of renewable energy. Our state offers some of the most generous incentives in the country to homeowners who go solar. I hope others will see the great benefits of investing in solar.

Barb and Russ Prechtl

Russ Prechtl made his move to go solar when he saw Astrum Solar putting panels up on his neighbor’s roof. He paid his neighbors a visit, asked about their experience with Astrum Solar, watched their meter run backwards and decided to talk to Astrum Solar about panels for his own home.

Russ is in the technology business, and his standards were very high when it came to selecting a company to install new technology in his home.

“I picked Astrum Solar because I was really impressed with their technical expertise and their attention to detail. They really know their subject matter very well. They took a lot of time to analyze the sun exposure for my roof so that they could project the amount of solar energy we would be able to get from our system and so that they could select the best type of equipment to use for our system.

They were able to answer all my questions. I couldn’t have asked for a better informed resource. This gave me a lot of confidence that they knew what they were talking about. They really have their act together.”

Once the Prechtl’s panels were installed, Russ turned his attention to the fun part of going solar: seeing the effects of his system at work. With an Astrum Solar system, you can check the performance of your panels on a daily basis online, and see how many watt-hours you’ve produced and how much you’ve lightened your carbon footprint.

“I really like Astrum Solar’s web-based monitoring of my system’s energy production,” said Russ. “I have a 4.2 kilowatt system, and on a sunny day, my system makes enough energy to power my TV for 140 hours. One sunny week gives me the same carbon offset as planting four trees. I like being able to access this information in real time. It’s cool stuff!”
