The renovation of his 100-year-old family home is what prompted Scott and his wife to start looking into solar. The family was committed to incorporating green technologies, and the 5.4 kW solar system, along with insulation, doors and windows, was part of a comprehensive plan to reduce electricity costs and the home’s carbon footprint.

“One of our friends had a great deal of success with Astrum Solar,” says Scott. “We were able to substantiate their reputation and very competitive price structure, which gave us a great deal of confidence in choosing to work with Astrum Solar.”

They were courteous, managed our expectations and delivered what they promised they would in a timely fashion.

As Scott’s installation moved forward, that confidence was well placed. “The guys were great and the installation went well. They were courteous, managed our expectations and delivered what they promised they would in a timely fashion,” says Scott. “The value-add for us was not only in the personal attention from likable staff, but the level of knowledge and ability to handle all the paperwork, which eliminated headaches or confusion.”

According to Scott an unexpected benefit was his wife’s appreciation of the final system she describes as “surprisingly attractive.” She recognized the extra care Astrum Solar took to make sure the shape and look of the solar system on their roof was consistent with the overall design sensibility of their historic home.

“Taking into account all the rebates and grants, our net investment in solar is giving us a great annual return, and we get to feel good about making it,” says Scott.
