When Roz and Mike purchased Earth Friendly Organic Farm and Bed & Breakfast in 2004, a new roof was their first renovation priority. Last year, when they were ready to look at converting their home to solar power, the couple reached out to Astrum Solar.

“We were sold on Astrum from the first time we met,” says Mike. “Everyone knew what they were talking about, which gave us confidence and made us want to go ahead with the program.”

“It’s a big investment and the website led us through a series of questions that helped us think through our options before we even spoke to someone,” adds Roz. “And then, everyone was very patient in working with us to design the system that would be best for us.”

Astrum fulfilled all the promises they made ... Not only is solar the right thing to do for the environment, it is the right thing to do financially.

This high level of customer service continued during the installation process. Astrum installers and electricians took time to explain each part of the solar system and answer questions about how the solar electricity is transported from the roof into their home or out to the grid. Now when interested guests stay at the bed and breakfast, Mike is happy to include a guided tour of the solar system, complete with a visit to the utility meter.

“Astrum fulfilled all the promises they made. A project like this could be a little daunting, but all issues relating to each phase of the project were resolved efficiently by Astrum personnel,” says Mike. “For example, when we were told to expect our tax credit, it was in our account within three days. Not only is solar the right thing to do for the environment, it is the right thing to do financially. Our last two bills were $0.00 and that is the best news of all.”

“We now have a beautiful solar-paneled roof, which generates an incredible amount of renewable energy and, most importantly, cleaner air, water and soil for our family and community and future generations,” says Roz. “Imagine if every house had solar power – we would all be Earth Friendly.”
